About MSSPI
We are a group of Paranormal Researchers and Investigators who take pride in how we conduct ourselves on investigations and outings. We are dedicated to professional and confidential services free of charge to our clients and the places we visit. We will not post private home information or personal data on our website without express permission from homeowners. We are also dedicated to educating our members and visitors to what is going on in the paranormal field, scientific, historical etc...We do volunteer community projects to help preserve our Mississippi Cemeteries and Historical Places as well as investigate unexplained phenomena, legends, stories and experiences. We work with EVP, Video, Audio and Photography and spend a great deal of time researching books, articles and historical information that might help us better understand ghosts, spirits and the field of paranormal studies and the history behind the places we investigate. We have fun but we also take our responsibilities seriously. If you are interested in becoming a member of MSSPI's research and investigation team, please read our bylaws and review our site before deciding to make the commitment.
We are not thrill seekers. Yes you can say we are ghost hunters, but we dont run around town with flashing lights, painted mystery mobiles and ecto plasm backpacks.
We dont get excited about every orb we see or every whisper we hear on our recorders. We tear our own evidence apart before we make any claims of paranormal activity and we welcome constructive ideas and comments from other paranormal groups as well as the interested public. We are not phd scientist or proclaimed psychics, gurus or spiritualists.
We are volunteer paranormal & historical researchers and it is our goal to improve knowledge and understanding of ghosts, spirits, the afterlife, paranormal investigation methods ,unexplained events and experiences ,historical legends and stories from our state, as well as contributing to our communities historical preservation efforts. We have members with interest in all types of paranormal phenomena and claims, we have both Christian and Pagan members, as well as believers and skeptics on our team, who work together to find valid answers. We are open-minded to all possibilities both natural and unnatural.
Our Mission
The Goal of MSSPI is to research, investigate, document and evaluate data that will lead to a better understanding of ghosts and hauntings , but is not limited to the subject of ghost and we will investigate any claims of the paranormal regardless of its origin. In the process of pursuing that goal, we also wish to aid any individual who is having problems dealing with or living with unexplained events. We do this by researching and providing education as to the true nature of their situation and giving them information and understanding to create a livable resolution. In the event that we do not feel qualified to handle a severe situation we will refer the individual to the proper contact who is qualified to help them with their particular situation. We are open minded to all theories and methods as this is still not an exact science. Everyone in the field of the paranormal learns as they go. It is our goal to contribute valid data to this learning process.

Please Note*** MSSPI DOES NOT perform seances', we do not perform Ouijia board sessions or conjuring rituals in your home, nor do we have a psychic on our team to give you a reading. We do not do house cleansings or perform exorcisms. We are open minded to the possibility of psychic phenomena but at this time we are not including this field of research in our in home investigations. However, we do understand that psychics and demonologist services are sometimes sought and required and we have some well qualified contacts that we can refer to you or call in on an investigation if the need arises.
What MSSPI will do is historical research and paranormal research investigations and experiments and tries to find rational explainations, for unexplained activity you may be experiencing. We document video, audio recording sessions, still imagery and enviromental data as well as personal experiences and historical research of your property or home and we will do everything we can to try and help you find answers. If you feel your home, business or property requires the services of a psychic or clergy, we will be happy to try and help you with a qualified referral.
MSSPI is also very much involved in preserving Mississippi history and cemetery preservation. Please check out our history and cemetery preservation links. MSSPI does not charge a fee for investigations, research or preservation projects We currently exist on the contributions of our members alone and donations made to our group's equipment and general funds.
MSSPI is currently an informal not-for profit group which means that we have not yet filed for IRS Classification of 501 (c)(3) status or tax -exemption, but we have plans in the works to do so by the end of the year or sooner, when all our paperwork is in order and the funds saved to do so.
MSSPI serves the entire State of Mississippi, but is not limited to its borders and may take on cases in TN, ARK, AL, or LA or may travel to special events with in the United States. Travel is not required and is strictly voluntary... Should MSSPI receive a request for investigation over 100 miles from our central area the Founders may choose to refer the case to a more local group if the need arises.

About MSSPI: The MSSPI team has posted our new 2010 Bylaws & Codes of Conduct on the About MSSPI page link. All new applicants should read this page and be in agreement with the codes of conduct prior to submitting your application for group membership.
Case Files & Reviews- this is a new effort to upload evidence and case reports of places we investigated in 2009 & 2010. It is a work in progress as there is a lot of evidence to sort and upload from last years investigations as well as this years case load. Thank you for your patience while we work on updating this project and our website upgrade.
